Marion Refrigerated Vans (also called "reefers"), like all Marion products, are designed and constructed to insure the long life of the truck body. They share many of the standard features that make our dry vans some of the most rugged in the industry, including the precoated, 4 inch, high tensile I-beam crossmembers, front corner posts of high tensile strength extruded aluminum (not a soft rolled aluminum sheet), proprietary crossmember support in the wheel areas, and recessed marker lights. Refrigerated Vans

We at Marion believe that our niche is to bring our customers personalized products for their individual needs, and we work extra hard to make every truck body fit your requirements. Many options are available on our standard line of Refrigerated Vans and our engineering staff can custom design specialized ones.

Many of the features of Marion Refrigerated Vans have been designed to increase the durability of the van body and the protection of its cargo. This is especially important since most of the goods hauled in insulated bodies are perishable. The materials used to construct a van body make a great difference in its performance, which is why our refrigerated/insulated bodies are primarily constructed of aluminum, an excellent lightweight metal which doesn't rust, insulated with a high "R" value polyurethane insulation, and lined with Kemlite, a USDA approved, rust-free material designed to withstand power washing of the interior.

Features

Maximum Thermal Protection for Payload
Because the most important reason for using a refrigerated van is to keep your cargo at a consistent cold temperature, Marion uses the industry's finest insulation: poured-in-place 2.0 pounds/cubic foot density polyurethane foam. We also add many insulation protection extras. Our proprietary SD wall posts and rafters are made of thermally insulated aluminum/Kemlite and will never take on moisture as wood posts will. This means that they will maintain their thermal efficiency throughout the life of the reefer. Also, all swing doors are built with fiberglass framing, and side doors feature a thermal break in the floor. Door seals are made of a compression type of rubber which is designed to be readily repairable if accidentally cut while maintaining a leakproof seal. The sub pan is constructed with heat transfer resistant Kemlite. All of these features help insure that whatever cargo you haul is protected throughout the life of your Marion reefer.
Maximum Corrosion Protection
For a truck body to have a long life, it must be protected from corrosion. Like our dry vans, Marion refrigerated vans feature 4 inch I-beam crossmembers that are fully precoated at the steel mill for full-surface rust protection, to which we add an acrylic resin undercoating. The standard rear frame is built with stainless steel, and the sub pan is made of rust free Kemlite. All wall posts and rafters contain no steel tubing to rust, rupture, and fail.
Unique Working Efficiencies
In order to make cleaning the inside of the body easier and more efficient, the front wall, sides, and ceiling are lined with single pieces of seamless Kemlite, and the floor is all aluminum - designed for level entry at the rear door for easy loading and unloading. For flexibility, should you decide to add shelving or relocate a bulkhead later in the life of your reefer, every Marion wall post is capable of securely supporting a fastener. As with our line of dry vans, the normal 94-1/8 inch inside height is designed to accommodate most forklifts, eliminating many loading and clearance problems.

Options

Many options are available for Marion refrigerated vans, and more can be designed for specific needs. The standard rear door on our reefers is two panel full-opening, but roll-up, four panel full-opening, two panel narrow-opening, or single panel narrow-opening rear doors are also available. Additional options include:
